This project was done for a data visualization course during fall 2013 and was constructed to visualize Super Mario data generated by Stabyourself.net. At Stabyourself.net they have created a Mario clone in Lua with a level builder. They took this game to a gaming conference - gamescom - and set up a booth where anyone could attempt running through Stabyourself.net's custom-built level. The purpose of their game is the same as normal Mario in which a player attempts to get Mario to the end of the level in the fastest time possible without dying. Stabyourself.net was able to save 974 completed runs of Mario and created this visualization from the data.
I was able to contact Stabyourself.net and obtained their data to construct a query tool and supporting visuals to break down and examine players' paths, speeds, and deaths.
